The 3rd World Sudoku Championship took place
14-17 April 2008, in Goa, India. It was organized by the World Puzzle
Federation's member in India, Novax Media.
132 contestants from 30 countries have been competing in Goa. Each
country could be represented officially by four players. A country
could send more players, but they were then obliged to compete as
individuals. Turkey had nine players, China and Slovakia - eight,
while Belarus - one.
The Sudoku puzzles were of classic versions with several variants. The
Classic Trophy was awarded to the player with the best score in the
classic puzzles.
Thomas Snyder from the USA defended his champion title from the
previous year. Thus, the top individual and team results are:
